This is what I got this morning spending time with Abba – Jeremiah 30:17

Now I know that we as believers are truly going through a very hard time and being tested in many ways, not to mention with the fearmongering around the C-V.

(Jer 30:17 [TS2009])

For I restore health to you and heal you of your wounds,’  declares YHVH, ‘for they have called you an outcast saying, “This is Tsiyon, no one is seeking her.” ’

Now we need to inspect this passage to get a better understanding of what it truly means.

Restore health-H724אֲרוּכָה‘aruwkah(ar-oo-kaw’)n-f.

  אֲרֻכָה‘arukah(ar-oo-kaw’)

wholeness(literally or figuratively). [feminine passive participle ofH748 (in the sense of restoring to soundness)]

KJV: health, made up, perfected.

So what this is saying is that YHVH is going to restore you back to your former more desirable state – like when you restore a painting to its original state, you restore it without blemish and bring back the beauty of the colours and remove years of decay and marks.

Heal– H7495רָפָאrapha’(raw-faw’)v.

  רָפָהraphah(raw-faw’)

1.(properly)to mend(by stitching).

2.(figuratively)to cure.

[a primitive root]

KJV: cure, (cause to) heal, physician, repair, X thoroughly, make whole.

See also:H4832  מַרפֵּאmarpe’(mar-pay’)n-m.

1.(properly)curative.

2.(literally, concretely)a medicine.

3.(abstractly)a cure.

4.(figuratively, concretely)deliverance.

5.(abstractly)placidity.

[fromH7495]

KJV: (in-)cure(-able), healing(-lth), remedy, sound, wholesome, yielding.

Root(s):H7495

If you go and look at what the meaning of wounds is then you can get the full sense of the power of this statement.

Wound– H4347מַכָּהmakkah(mak-kaw’)n-f.

  מַכֶּהmakkeh(muk-keh’)[masculine]

1. a blow(in2 Chronicles 2:10, of the flail).

2.(by implication)a wound.

3.(figuratively)carnage, also pestilence.

[(plural only) fromH5221]

KJV: beaten, blow, plague, slaughter, smote, X sore, stripe, stroke, wound(-ed).

Root(s):H5221

Wow So YHVH is going to cure us and deliver us from our plagues and pestilence!  That is powerful.

But who is this Zion that is OUTCAST and that no one is seeking?

Zion– H6726צִיוֹןTsiyown(tsee-yone’)n/l.

1.(meaning)a monumental or guiding pillar.

2.(location)Tsiyon(Tsion, Sion, Zion, Tzion)(as a permanent capital), a mountain of Jerusalem.

[the same (regularly) asH6725]

KJV: Zion.

Root(s):H6725

See also:G4622 G4622ΣιώνSion(siy-ōn’)n/l.

1.(meaning)a monumental or guiding pillar.

2.(location)Tsiyon(i.e. Tsion, Sion, Zion, Tzion),(as a permanent capital), a mountain of Jerusalem.

3.(figuratively)the festive Called Out Assembly(militant or triumphant).

[of Hebrew origin (H6726)]

KJV: Sion

Root(s):H6726

If you read the whole of Jeremiah 30, especially from verse 10 you will get the context of the passage leading up to this verse.

Abba was promising Jacob and Israel that He will save them and their seed from where He had scattered them……why where they scattered?

The people of Israel were scattered because of their disobedience and rebellion against YHVH and His Torah.

So we could deduce that Zion is the Called out Ones – those truly serving YHVH God with their whole being and doing what is right in HIS eyes not our own eyes.

We as believers who love YHVH God and keep His commandments (John 14:15) will be able to stand on this promise of Jeremiah 30:17.

So my fellow believers do not be dismayed and do not lose hope or fall prey to fearmongering we serve a God bigger than any disease, any hate speech, rejection or ridicule, especially for not wanting to take the “cure”.

We are entering the end times and we are going to be more and more outcast the closer we draw to YHVH God and let go of the flesh and do more that is pleasing in YHVH’s eyes.

As Psalm 91 says, “He who dwells in the secret place of the Most High, Who abides under the shadow of the Almighty”……will be delivered from the snare of the trapper and destructive pestilence.

SHALOM MISHPACHA!

Be encouraged and remember you are not alone!
