Jeremiah 9
This chapter of Jeremiah reflects the times we are living in right now.
A prayer that I prayed many a time is “Father let me love what you love and hate what you hate” and then if that is not enough I also for many years prayed “Father please give me a heart like yours to feel what you feel”.
When praying those two prayers sincerely it changes your life. I feel things very intensely when it comes to believers who claim to be living by the Word of YHVH. And my moral code of right and wrong has become more prominent, many say that I am too black and white, but is YHVH not black and white – it is wrong or right there is no middle ground or grey area, no Luke-warm in a relationship with YHVH God. (Rev 3:14-22) Do not be like the Church of Laodicea! Praying those two prayers have also led me on a journey of crossing over as Abraham did, change of name much like Abraham had, which is a change of character. And then losing children so as to feel the pain Father does when He disciplines us out of love for disobedience and we choose to rebel instead of repent and draw near. So be warned it is not an easy path to walk!
But let us get into Jeremiah 9……
Jeremiah 9:8 (KJV) Their tongue is as an arrow shot out; it speaketh deceit: one speaketh peaceably to his neighbour with his mouth, but in heart, he layeth his wait.
In my life, I have had believers and unbelievers, friends, family (blood and spiritual) and co-workers that have, to my face been nice and behind my back slandered me and cursed me. It is devastating, to say the least when you find out but when the Father actually lets you hear it in the Spirit realm to prepare you and warn you so that you can break those words in the Spirit realm it is a whole different walk. Trust me I have fallen in the flesh and had to fight my personal demons of rejection which manifests in anger. But the Father is making me stronger and today I realised again after reading Jeremiah 9 that He has been preparing me for a time like this.
Fellow believers, things are not going to get easier if you read verse 7, the Father is going to refine us. In 2019 already – before the whole pandemic the Father warned me that He is going to be separating the wheat from the chaff, there is no more time for luke-warm believers, now is the time to pray the very difficult prayer – “Father let me love what YOU love and HATE what YOU hate”.
We need to purify our garments and build our personal intimate relationship with Him, not through man but personally with Him. You are not secure in the fact that you are going to enter the Kingdom just because you said a little “Sinners Prayer”. We need to run the race to the end to win the prize, what prize? Well, eternal life. (1 Corinthians 9:24-27) running this race also requires discipline and self-control.
Paul says in 1 Cor 9:27 (KJV)”But I keep under my body, and bring it into subjection: lest that by any means when I have preached to others, I myself should be a castaway.” So even Paul understood that you can live your life for Messiah and the Gospel and still not make the Kingdome due to sin or falling short.
We see further in Jeremiah 9:5 + 8 that the tongue is a major problem, it is a “slaying arrow”.
I have over the last few years seen how people’s mouths (trust me I have and am still being tested in it myself) are their biggest downfall. This organ is such an important instrument in our walk of faith that it is mentioned 129 times from Genesis to Revelation in the KJV of the bible. Nearly all of the references are to the USAGE of it and the lack of control of it, a few times it refers to the actual language.
We are told throughout scripture that we are not to lie/deceive. So if we are to be found righteous before YHVH then are we allowed to tell a lie if it means getting basic necessities?
This is an issue I have been struggling with the last while, especially with the events we find ourselves in at the moment in the world where people are not able to buy or sell without a “proof”, and this is only the beginning, the test run is still in progress.
So will you buy a fake “proof” so that you can buy the basic necessities?
I have come to the conclusion from my walk with YHVH over the last few years and reading Scripture that NO, we are not allowed to lie or deceive, we need to show the world and prove to YHVH that we have 100% faith and trust in Him. We need to trust YHVH that He will provide Manna and quail and shelter during the day and at night, just like He did for the Israelites in the desert.
Please do not think that it is easy for me, I question myself a lot IF only I had faith like a mustard seed.
Why are we going through this you may ask:
It is an age-old problem and unfortunately, we have not learnt from history.
Jeremiah 9:13-15 (The Scriptures 1998+) And YHVH says, “Because they have forsaken My Torah which I set before them, and have not obeyed My voice, nor walked according to it, but they have walked according to the stubbornness of their own heart and after the Ba’als, which their fathers had taught them.” Therefore thus said YHVH of hosts, the Elohim of Yisra’el, “See, I am making this people eat wormwood, and I shall make them drink poisoned water.”
So as I said previously this is a time of testing we are in and going into and we need to find ourselves approved (Acts 17) as the Bereans.
Are you going to praise Abba for His righteous judgement even if you are thrown in the midst of the fire?
All are going to be punished circumcised or uncircumcised as not only are we to be circumcised in the flesh (doing Torah) we are to be circumcised in the heart (bearing the fruit of the Spirit and living as Messiah did doing signs and miracles in a righteous love).
Jeremiah 9:23-26 – “Thus said יהוה, “Let not the wise boast in his wisdom, let not the mighty boast in his might, nor let the rich boast in his riches, but let him who boasts boast of this, that he understands and knows Me, that I am יהוה, doing kindness, right-ruling, and righteousness in the earth. For in these, I delight,” declares יהוה. “See, the days are coming,” declares יהוה, “when I shall punish all circumcised with the uncircumcised – “Mitsrayim, and Yehuḏah, and Eḏom, and the children of Ammon, and Mo’aḇ, and all those trimmed on the edges, who dwell in the wilderness. For all the gentiles are uncircumcised, and all the house of Yisra’ĕl are uncircumcised in heart!”
No one is going to be raptured out before all the troubles, we all, as Israel in Egypt, went through the plagues so we are going to go through the troubles. We as a remnant need to be in tune and ensure we are sensitive to the Spirit and can identify His voice from all the other voices and walk in obedience, and endure to the end with no compromise.
Enter this Shabbat and do some introspection, I myself need to sacrifice the flesh, by watching what I say and what I am compromising with, and how much time I am spending in the presence of YHVH to ensure I am available and ready to hear His guiding voice.
Do not partake of this evil time known as “New Year” as it is not a time to be celebrated. Make sure that every minute of every day you are living, walking and speaking in a way that you will not be ashamed if Yeshua walks through the door.
